16 bit windows subsystem error.
This error usually has a
message similar to the following:
"C:\Windows\System32\Autoexec.NT. The system file
is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows
Applications. Chose 'Close' to terminate the
application."
The Microsoft id for
this error is #324767.

. This problem is usually due to a corrupt or missing
autoexec.nt file which will need to be replaced.

Do
the CDs work with Windows XP etc.?
Yes, they do. Follow the same instructions as for Windows 95.
They also run on ME and 2000. One thing to note: Make sure Norton’s
Utilities or Virus Scan are disabled during the installation. You can turn it
back on after the CD has been installed

Can I install the entire CD onto my hard drive?
Newer versions of our software
allow it to go to the HD, Most CDs are designed to run
from the disk. If you have a specific reason as to why you
would need it installed completely on your hard drive, please contact us.

Can I use the CD on more than one Computer?
Yes, however if you want to use the CD on multiple computers,
you must contact us for details.

Do I have to go through the installation any time I want to
use the program?
No, just install it once and then to access the program, click on START, choose PROGRAMS, open the
HARMONY MEDIA folder and choose double click on the correct icon for the CD you
have.

Can I put the shortcut on my desktop?
Yes, open Windows Explorer. Find your C:\ drive and open your Windows folder. Then find the Start
Menu folder. Open Programs and your Harmony Media folder. Find the icon you want
to put on your desktop. Highlight and hit Ctrl+C on your keyboard to copy it.
Close Explorer and use Ctrl+V to paste the icon on your desktop.

Error: "Cannot find the file D:\setup.exe. Make sure
the path and filename are correct and that all required libraries are available"
Solution1: Check your CD-ROM drive letter. To do this, double click on the MY COMPUTER icon on
your desktop. Look for the icon of your CD-ROM drive. The letter below it is the
letter you need to use in your command line instead of D.
Solution2: Make sure
there are no misspellings and that there is no comma at
the end of your command line.

Error: "Computer freezes at 0% when copying
Mviewer2.exe."
Check to see if you have Norton’s running on your computer.
This program will occasionally conflict with other program installations
and should be turned off before installing new software. To disable Norton’s,
click on the START button. Choose PROGRAMS and click on NORTON UTILITIES. Then
click on your SYSTEM DOCTOR. When the program comes up, choose close and “stop
monitoring system.” You can turn it back on once the program
has been installed.

Error: When trying to run the program, an error message
comes up saying, "Cannot find file…"
Solution1: The particular file was not copied correctly to your Windows System folder. Open up
Windows Explorer. On the left hand side, find your CD ROM drive. Double click to
open. You should see a list of file on the right hand side. Find the one that
matches your missing file. Click to highlight it. Now hit Ctrl C on the keyboard
to copy it. Now scroll up to your C:\ drive. Find the Windows file on the C:\ drive. Click to open and find System
folder. Highlight that folder and hit Ctrl V on keyboard to paste file. Now try
to run your program again.
Solution2: The files are hidden on your computer. To unhide them, open Windows Explorer. Choose
View at the top of the screen.
Win 95 users: Scroll down to Options and click. Make sure “Show all files” option is chosen.
Win 98: Choose Folder Options. Click on the View tab. Under Hidden Files, choose
Show All Files.

Error: Error message comes up saying "Cannot find Viewer
file. Make sure correct disk and directory are
specified."
Make sure the CD ROM is in the drive. It must always
be in the drive to run the program. If it is in the drive, open Windows Explorer
and find your CD ROM drive. Make sure that the CD is showing up.

Error: Mviewer2.exe caused a general protection fault in
module MVMCI2.dll
Always reboot your computer after a general protection fault error. Then open
Windows Explorer and find your CD ROM drive. Copy the file that caused the fault
and the module file to your Windows System folder. Reinstall the program.

Can I change the font size or type?
In the newest updates you can
change font size. For some cds the only way to manipulate the text is to copy and paste it into your word
processor (Word, Word Perfect, Word pad, Notepad, etc.) and work with it there.

How do I print a document/selection/picture from the CD?
To
print a document,
simply open the screen you wish to print and choose
Print Topic under the File Menu.
To
print a selection
of text. Copy the text to the clipboard under the
Edit Menu. Then under the Edit Menu, choose Print
Clipboard.
To
print a picture
that pops up on the screen. With the picture open, hit
Ctrl P on your keyboard.

How do I copy/print the footnotes or the search results?
Unfortunately, you cannot copy or print the footnotes or the search results.

When I try to copy some of the documents, the text in the box
cuts off and I can’t read the end.
Some of the documents on the CD are longer than the space on the CDs clipboard. To
get around this, simply open the document you wish to copy, hit Ctrl C on your
keyboard, open your word processor (Word, Word Perfect, Word Pad, Notepad, etc.) and paste (Ctrl V). The entire document should be there for you to copy and
manipulate.

The text is cut off and jumbled together.
Turn off your Adobe Type Manager (ATM). This will turn off any font substitutions and
should solve the problem.

Are your discs compatible with OSX?
Not currently. You will need to
have OS9 available on the same Mac in order to use any
of our software. If you do have OS9 you should be able
to just run the program as normal. You may have to start
your computer up using OS9 in some cases.
